Porsche is Planning a Ferrari Fighter
Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller wants to take the fight to Ferrari, as Reuters reports the Stuttgart-based automaker’s chief announced his wish for a Porsche-branded supercar. Intended to go head-to-head with the Ferrari 458 Italia, the new car could begin where the short-lived Carrera GT supercar left off. If a Ferrari competitor is destined for production, it could make meeting Porsche’s goals for the future, which include offering more models and selling 200,000 units a year by 2018, within arm’s reach.
In an interview with a German newspaper, Mueller said, “It always irritated me that the [most expensive] 911 tops out at 250,000 euros ($360,000) and then the 918 continues starting at 750,000 euros ($1,090,000)…In between, Ferrari moseys around relatively comfortably and without any competition.”
Mueller continued, saying, “That is where we need to be. There is still space for a larger sports car, one like the 959 that we built in the 1980s.” If such a model were produced, Mueller says it could cost between 250,000 and 400,000 euros ($581,000). Automobile, our sister publication, recently went inside Porsche to discover more about the company’s Ferrari fighter, codenamed the 960.
Rather than being a derivative of Porsche’s upcoming halo car, the 918, the 960 will lead development of the German automaker’s new platform, known internally as MSB-M, or modular sports car matrix, mid-engine. This platform will underpin several cars from the Volkswagen Group, including the VW Blue Sport, the next Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago, and even the 2018 Porsche 911, through a special version of the platform configured for rear-engine layout. As the platform will be widely used throughout VW’s brands, it will be able to accommodate many engine types, from in-line to boxer layouts, and V-6s to V-12s.
Porsche may opt for a twin-turbo flat-six engine for the 960, as opposed to a V-8 or V-12 found in more conventional supercars. This would save space, lower the car’s center of gravity, and also allow Porsche to pull from its existing parts bin. A twin-turbo six-cylinder could also be more efficient than a V-8 or V-12, while still offering ample power – as much as 600 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque.
Reuters says Porsche has planned three new models for the coming years, including the small Cajun SUV, an entry-level, mid-engine roadster expected to channel the spirits of the 550 Spyder and 356 Speedster, and a smaller version of the Panamera four-door GT. The 960 is still awaiting the green light, but such determination from Porsche’s CEO could mean the company’s future lineup could soon increase to eight models. Porsche’s mid-engine Ferrari competitor could go into production as early as 2015.

2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 - Official Photos and Info
We thought that Porsche had pretty much squeezed everything it could get out of the current 911 (internally called 997), which is due to be replaced by the heavily redesigned and bigger 991 at the Frankfurt auto show this fall. But we were wrong: meet the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, a stripped-down track fugitive equipped with the largest engine ever installed in a series-production 911, a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that reaches 500 hp at 8250 rpm. That’s up from 450 hp at 7900 rpm for the 911 GT3 RS with its 3.8-liter flat-six. The maximum torque of 339 lb-ft—up from 317—arrives at 5750 rpm.
For the GT3 RS 4.0, Porsche uses the crankshaft of the 911 GT3 RSR race car; the connecting rods are made from titanium. We are happy to report that the only transmission available is a six-speed manual—no PDK dual-clutch transmission here. Porsche swapped the hood, fenders, and seats for carbon-fiber bits, and used lighter carpeting—some markets also will get a plastic rear window—cutting weight to 2998 pounds, 160 fewer than the RS we had at our last Lightning Lap. The RS 4.0 also gets a unique rear wing and air deflectors on the front fascia.
Wait. Where’s the Gain?
The 193-mph top speed is no improvement over the other GT3 models, and neither does Porsche claim the 4.0 will be any quicker than the, um, “basic” GT3 RS. The company quotes the same 3.8 seconds to 60 as it does for the RS. But we already clocked a GT3 at 3.8 seconds in that sprint. Figure on the RS 4.0 doing the deed in around 3.6—a rear-drive 911 can only be so quick.
This isn’t simply a last-minute update to the GT3 RS. It is a limited-production run of just 600 copies globally. The standard color is Carrara White, accentuated with silver and red striping on the front fascia, sides, hood, and roof—and huge "Porsche" lettering on the rear spoiler. The multifarious gimmicks and luxuries of many other 911s are markedly absent—there is no stop watch on the top of the dashboard, no cupholder, no navigation system, and, as mentioned before, no PDK.
This, of course, means the GT3 RS 4.0 will be even more expensive than the non-numbered RS. The 4.0 should set you back at least $185,000 when it hits U.S. showrooms later this year, about $70,000 more than a regular 911 GT3 and still $50,000 more than the GT3 RS. You'll probably still be lucky to get one.

The insides of a computer are obviously more important as they determine its performance. But it doesn’t harm its performance if it looks elegant and slim and adds to the décor in your home. Design Hara, the Korean studio has unveiled a new green PC that is a perfect example of attractive industrial design. It looks small for a computer and might be mistaken for a car stereo. But the thing that makes it not only different but superior to similar products is the iPhone dock.
The iPhone dock is right in front which is capped with a piece of solid wood. The case of the Slim PC is handcrafted in a svelte and compact design that fits in very well in any modern living room. The other highlight of the design is that it allows for an easy disassembly of the machine leading to optimum recycling. The power consumption is also lower than the average at just 60 watts. It is hardly 30% compared to a traditional desktop PC.
There have been improvements on the inside as well. In place of Intel Core2Duo processor the eco friendly Slim PC sports a more powerful Intel Sandy Bridge i3 and i5 chips. Infiniti, BMW And Mercedes Benz
Without a doubt, driving a crème de la crème luxury car is thrilling, exciting and loads of fun. We often hear the saying “Money Can’t Buy Happiness”. Perhaps it can’t buy you happiness but it sure can buy you one might fine car, even one with twelve cylinders and more horsepower than you’ll ever need! Here is a list of the top luxury car brands in the automotive market.
Mercedes Benz- This is the first brand that comes to mind when you hear the phrase “luxury car”. Studies have shown that Mercedes is the number one brand prestige brand that consumers immediately associate with wealth, affluence and social status. For 2011, Benz has updated the look of its mid-level E-Class trim with a set of new angular lights and a new modern look. Mercedes is no longer just prim and proper, she can also be daring and aggressive! It is rather interesting to observe that many older C-class models are being utilized as taxi cabs in many European countries. This is testament to the durability of Mercedes engines; some of the engines on the taxi cabs have reached and surpassed the six figure range. Lots of young Hollywood stars opt for Mercedes; pop sensation Britney Spears has been often seen causing mayhem in the streets of L.A in her white Mercedes SL65 while actress Lindsay Lohan has been involved in an infamous car crash in her black SL65. This top of the linemodel comes with a V12 engine and an incredible 604 HP with a heavy price tag of approximately around $199k.
BMW- Known as the “The Ultimate Driving Machine”, this brand is targeted to consumers who crave an athletic and performance oriented vehicle. The difference between BMW and Benz is that the first is engineered to be performance oriented while the latter is aimed towards driver and passenger comfort. The most famous trim by a mile is the 3-series, which offers quality performance, handling and power at a competitive price in the entry-level market. The 335 model comes with an engine that puts out an incredible 300 HP and 300 lb feet of torque. My personal favorite has to be the top of the line 7 Series, which oozes power and class; the 2010 model boasts a eight cylinder engine with 400 HP.
Infiniti – Nissan’s luxury line is making big waves in the market with its sleek, high-performance and powerful vehicles. Infiniti has recently unveiled its high performance IPL line to the public, which is a more affordable alternative to Benz’s AMG line and the M3 series from BMW. The advantage that Infiniti has versus the other upscale car manufacturers is that its service and maintenance costs are towards the lower end of the scale. In general, Infiniti is also more competitively priced when compared with BMW and Benz. A stand out is the top of the line M56 which comes equipped with a mighty eight cylinder engine and 420 HP, with the AWD model starting at around $60k. For more info about Infinity, visit Luxury Cars Bay Area for a great selection. Bay Area Infiniti Dealer has the M56 plus the super sleek Infiniti G37 Bay Area in stock. For a more affordable line-up, check out the more affordable Used Cars Bay Area selection.
Money may not necessarily buy you happiness but it can sure buy you a fine looking car. If you’re looking for an upscale auto, you really cannot go wrong with any of the brands listed above; they are all top notch in their own right. Luxury Cars Las Vegas boasts an incredible selection of Aston Martin vehicles such as the Vantage.

One of the foremost names in high end speaker systems, Genesis, has now introduced an all new range of luxury speaker systems that are designed to provide the most astounding audio quality, while adding more beauty to your living room’s aesthetics. This magnificent range of tower speakers consist of Genesis 7.2 Petite (G7p), Genesis 7.2 Convertible (G7c) & Genesis Floor-Stander (G7f) speaker systems. Unlike conventional speaker systems, this brilliant line of tower speakers provides exceptional audio quality and have been given Genesis tweeters that first made an appearance in the company’s Genesis 1.2 loudspeaker. Furthermore, to ensure enhanced and unmatched performance, the entire 7.2 series has been provided with a titanium-cone mid/woofer, as well as a cutting edge crossover topology that greatly enhances sound dispersion.
The Genesis 7.2 Petite (G7p) is a bass oriented speaker system that focuses on delivering heart thumping bass levels along with enriched audio that makes listening to your favorite tracks all the more pleasurable. Furthermore, the G7p features a unique design set, where in the speaker speakers comes with tweeters on the front and the rear of the speakers. Next in line is Genesis 7.2 Convertible (G7c), a tower speaker that has been designed and developed to work as a speaker which can be used for left, right as well as central positions. This remarkable speakers sports a state of the art sound dispersion technology that allows it product magnificent audio quality and levels, without occupying much space. The last model is the Genesis Floor-Stander (G7f), another tower speaker that comes with a servo-controlled bass system that combined with class D amplification is able to provide enhanced bass to even low frequency sounds operating at 22Hz. The Genesis 7.2 Petite (G7p) comes with a price tag of $2,950, while the Genesis 7.2 Convertible (G7c) costs $3,950. The costliest of all three models is the Genesis Floor-Stander (G7f) that carries a price tag of a hefty $8,950.
According to Gary Leonard Koh (CEO, Genesis Advanced Technologies),
“I am an advocate for the right speaker for the right room. In a small room, a large loudspeaker would over-power the room and this would result in boomy bass and a loss of articulation. The Genesis 7-series are designed without compromise for small rooms — rooms that would be too small to accommodate one of our larger loudspeakers. The more expensive Genesis loudspeakers are not necessarily better, they are just larger, and would need a larger room to really “sing”. We don’t use cheaper drivers or cheaper crossover parts or take manufacturing shortcuts with the 7-series loudspeakers. We just make them smaller.”

Super Sweet Cars From The Movies
Mustang GT-“Bullitt”- This well known classic movie features a 1968 Ford Mustang GT. It was super powerful for its time and as a matter of fact, it’s still powerful for today! Equipped with an impressive a V8 engine with 325 HP, this smooth and cool ride had a major role in an intense seven minute car chase scene. With all of that power and hp, you know the chase was a nail biting one!
Aston Martin DB5 “GoldFinger”- It only makes sense that a British special agent would drive one of the finest British automobiles ever created. Mr Bond drives a classic DB5 in both the “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball” movies. The actual DB5 model that was driven by Sean Connery was recently purchased at a British auction at the price $4.6 million dollars.
Bumblebee-“Transformers ”- BumbleBee is the bright yellow Camaro driven by Shia Lebouf in Transformers. She sports a bold look with painted black stripes on a yellow background and looks just like a bumblebee. In October of 2010, Bumblebee was involved in a car accident in Maryland which was not written in the scene; a police cruiser who wasn’t aware that filming was occurring in the area accidentally hit Bumblebee on the side. If you would like a Camaron in the style of Bumblebee, now you if your purchase Chevrolet’s Transformers Special Edition package for the Camaro. This will get you Autobot insignia fender bags and wheel s.
Ford Edge-“Quantum Of Solace” –You would expect an stylish and dashing like James Bond to emerge out of a Aston Martin, Bentley or at the least a Mercedes Benz but in “Quantum Of Solace” he shocks us all by arriving at his hotel in a Ford Edge. James Bond drive doesn’t just any Ford Edge in the movie, but an environmentally friendly Ford Edge fueled by a hydrogen fuel cell. It’s the perfect vehicle for a Bond of the current times; one who is aware of the issues of our times.
Next time when you’re at the movies, take a closer look at the cars in the background. You never know, they could end up being iconic cars!

Pierre Cardin brings a swirl of design to the tablet-PC market with PC-7006
This isn’t the first time we’re seeing a marriage between a designer label and tech giant. But Pierre Cardin is doing it all by itself. Needless to say, it too is quite motivated by the ongoing tablet-PC and thought it is about time that it doles out UK’s first designer tablet PC. And thus there is the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 in an ultra-cool black gift box with a shining metallic company logo.
The designer stamp isn’t its only selling point. Under the hood, it has Android 2.2 Froyo OS though Gingerbread would have sealed the deal better. Other than there is the Samsung Cortex A8 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, 802.11 b/g and 3G connectivity, HDMI port, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and 720P HD video playback capabilities. It also has a capacitive multi-touch 7-inch display packs 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It measures about 19.5 x 12.3 x 1.4 cm (7.6 x 4.8 x 0.5 in) and weighs 520 g (1.14 lb).
There are no color options other than black which comes as quite disappointing to me. Other than the brand stamp and the fancy gift box of course, there isn’t much of a ‘luxury’ or ‘designer’ feel to the tablet. Neither could I find anything in the tech specs that would separate this one from the present mid-range offerings in the marker. Anyway, if you still like, you could buy one for US$447. I think at least we should be happy that, in the name of luxury and design, this one wasn’t decked with crystals and jewels.

Jaguar Cars For Independent, Self-Made Women
Women have more earning power than ever. We’ve got female prime ministers, executives of million dollar companies and internet entrepreneurs. There is a common belief that women prefer cars that are small and affordable. However, I am about to completely dispel that myth.
First on the list is a sexy and sleek sports car; the one and only XK manufactured by British auto maker Jaguar. There are many popular cars in this niche including the SL500 and SL65 from Benz or even the 6-series from BMW. However, the Jaguar can really hold its own even among the mighty and powerful Germans. It is powered by a V8 5.0 Liter engine with 385 hp. The XK is one fast ride and accelerates from zero to sixty in just 5.2 seconds. Jaguar Drive Control is also in place which allows the driver to drive the vehicle in various modes depending on road conditions. The interior is contemporary and modern while still retaining that classic Jaguar charm. Buyers can select aluminum trim instead of traditional wood. The radio and temperature settings are controlled by a LCD touch screen. The XK is priced to sell at around seventy five thousand dollars. Jaguar Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley Jaguar has great prices on the XK.
The XJ is another great choice; this car is so gorgeous it simply takes my breath away. Its lines are sleek and elegant with curves in just the right places. Engineers crafted the body out of aluminum resulting in a really lightweight auto. The engine is powerful; it’s an eight cylinder with 385 HP which can be upgraded to a supercharged version with an intense 510 hp. Three trim levels are available, the base, Supercharged and Supersport. A really nifty feature is the rotary gear selector, which rises up once the engine is started. Pricing for the base model starts at the $71k range. If you want a car that exudes glamor and opulence then the XK would make an excellent selection. For excellent new cars check out Burbank Jaguar.
The XK is more athletic and suited for the woman who wants a sportier drive while the XJ is more of a cruiser and geared towards comfort. Either way, both of these cars would be a solid choice for a woman who demands the best in her life and from her cars.
It’s 2011 now folks. Women are making more money than ever. As a matter of fact; more women are attending university than men. The belief that we all prefer smaller and cheaper cars is a bit offending and condescending. A lot of ladies nowadays like to ride in style and we certainly have the bankroll to do so.
Looking for used cars? Check out Used Cars Los Angeles and Used Cars San Fernando Valley for great deals. Los Angeles & San Fernando Valley luxury car shoppers have found that Galpin Jaguar is the very best place to find cars in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley. Ever since the evolution of computers, one name has always glorified the immense advances in technology as well as mobility and that is a laptop. Fast forwarding a few decades from a time when laptops used to be bulky machines with limited computing power, the current generation notebooks are just as powerful as any high performance desktop, while carrying gorgeous designs. In a timeline where performance alone doesn’t add to the popularity of an electronic product, luxury laptops have made their mark as potent instruments of extreme computing fused with stunning elegance. A Review Of The Lincoln Navigator
Luxury SUV’s offer a large amount of interior space combined with impeccable styling and top of the line features. One of the leaders in this segment is the Navigator, manufactured by Lincoln. This SUV stands out for its stylish appearance and quiet smooth ride.
One great thing about the Navigator is that it comes equipped with the Sync system from Ford Motor Company which enables the driver to control Bluetooth, navigation and the radio and cd player by giving out voice commands. If you choose to add in the DVD system at an extra price, you get two separate screens installed in the head rests on the front seat. Cargo space is at 18.1 cubic feet but if you fold the third row down space is maximized to a huge 103 cubic feet.
One of the most noticeable aspects about the Navigator is its imposing stance which is accentuated even further by it’s gorgeous grille. There are numerous touches of chrome; on the grille, slightly below it and on the wheels. The ride quality is on the smooth side and power is intense thanks to an eight cylinder 5.4 Liter engine with 310 hp and 365 lb feet of torque. Handling is very competent despite its massive size and the cabin is well insulated from exterior noise. The suspension is tight while steering feels accurate and precise. For the navigator in the Los Angeles area check out Lincoln Burbank or Los Angeles Lincoln Navigator, Burbank Lincoln Navigator.
Lincoln engineers have included a large variety of safety features incluyding SOS Post Crash Alert System, Advance Trac with Roll Stability Control and Ford’s Mykey system which will come in handy for parents with teenage children. Thanks to this system, parents with teenage children can control the audio volume and speed at which their kids are driving. Another handy feature is the rear view camera; it gives you a better view when you are reversing and should make parking into a small space a lot less painful. The 2010 performed excellent during safety crash tests, the NHTSA issued it an impressive five stars for frontal and side protection during impact.

Sculpture Line Skeleton Watch is the fusion of contemporary design and classic and traditional watch. The beauty of this watch reveals both internal and external values. The craftsmanship of the new Tissot Sculpture Line Skeleton actually shows everything such as designs and the fascinating mechanical movement through windows, with the nostalgic details such as roman numerals on the dial and leather strap which is neatly stitched. The Tissot draws attention of the individuals who want to look beyond the surface.

Tissot offers a fully skeletonised watch, but the numerals are still legible. The dial has the indicators of hour and minute, with silver and black dial. Tissot uses a full scale hour as well as minutes showing time. Dial is cut open to show the view of the movements, which gives upside down mushroom appearance.
You could see complete skeletonization and process of decoration on the rear side of the watch. The case is fitted with the crocodile strap. The price is not known. The luxury watch may be estimated about $5,000 to $8,000. Price would be definitely high with the 18K gold case.

Which Cars Are Really Made In America?
Many Americans are very serious about only buying American cars and rightfully so; buying domestic helps support American jobs and families.
Is it a guarantee that you will be supporting American jobs just because you are buying a domestic brand? Not always. Many of think of Ford as a typical American brand; it’s one of the oldest nameplates in the country and just about as American as it can get, right? It might surprise you to know that the Fiesta, one of Ford’s popular sellers, is actually manufactured in Mexico. On the other hand, there are numerous foreign companies with factories in the U.S; these plants help to provide for thousands of U.S jobs.
There are many foreign owned factories throughout the entire country. For example, BMW makes many of its models in Spartensburg, South Carolina. The plant has the capability of making as many as 120,000 cars a year, it employs more than 3,000 American workers and it has been producing cars since 1994.
Ohio and Alabama are home to factories of Honda, one of the biggest automotive companies in the world. Combined the factories have the capability of making 984,174 cars and they employ over twelve thousand Americans.Mercedes Benz owns a big plant in Alabama which employs almost two thousand individuals. Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi has one plant in Normal, Illinois which can make 240,000 cars and employs 3,160 Americans. Ford Lake Dallas also known as Ford Dallas has a large inventory of cars in stock.
The majority of these foreign plants are located in the south. The southern states welcomed these factories with open arms and offered the companies sweet incentives. They knew that these factories would provide for thousands of jobs and help to stimulate the economy big time.
Factories don’t just lead to jobs inside the plant; they affect and stimulate all levels of the economy. Occupations affected may include auto sales, computer science, programmers, road workers, the tire industry and many more. Alabama courted Mercedes Benz by offering the German company millions of dollars in attractive tax incentives. What the state got was a plant that employs about 1,500 people in the town of Vance. Ford Country is a Ford Denton and Ford The Colony dealer.
What made these foreign companies want to set up shop here is because the states were so welcome for jobs that they built the infrastructure to support the factories. Not only that, but these companies received big tax savings and breaks.
In conclusion, if you want to purchase a car that supports American jobs you don’t necessarily have to buy a domestic brand. You can still drive a foreign import and support the economy. The best way to find out where a specific vehicle is manufactured is by conducting research on the internet.
